Le Mulaie is a small country estate on the lower slopes of Monte Cetona.

At an altitude of 1,000 feet, it is surrounded by spectacular views of unspoilt and quintessentially Tuscan countryside.

The estate comprises three independent villas of which the former farmhouse (Il Podere) and its neighbouring cottage (La Casetta) are available to rent.

The two villas sit within a beautiful, professionally landscaped garden, available for the exclusive use of guests, with wide vistas of vineyards, olive groves, hay fields and woodland, where deer, hare and other wild life are abundant.

The villas have been sympathetically restored by local craftsmen with the careful guidance of the current owners, using traditional materials, whilst incorporating modern amenities and wonderful designer kitchens.

Typical Tuscan towns and hill villages, such as Assisi, Siena, Orvieto, Perugia are close by, and a little further, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, with their artistic and historical wealth can also be easily reached. Le Mulaie is a short drive from the A1 intersection (Rome to Florence Autostrada).

In days gone by the estate provided shelter and pasture for "Chianina" cows as well as producing olive oil and wine.

Now a small amount of olive oil and wine is still produced, but the focus is on tranquility and privacy.

A long , tree lined driveway gives access to the two villas' private car parking area and the paved courtyard which unites them.

The two villas sleep 10 people and are normally let as a unit, but Il Podere, which sleeps 6 people, may, on occasions, be let separately and at a reduced rate.

Further down the hill, there is a third villa, with it's own private access and car parking area. This is the private home of the English/Italian couple, who divide their time between Tuscany and London.

The couple, whilst making their absolute priority to respect and ensure the privacy of their guests, are , nevertheless, happy to be called upon by guests to help with local information and whenever the language becomes a barrier.
