Nestled in the coveted Las Palmas neighborhood of Palm Springs sits the spectacular Alexander Modern Estate. This sprawling 4,000 sq foot expanded Alexander on a corner lot is the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway with friends or family. The home seamlessly blends the mid century aesthetic with modern contemporary touches.
The property was originally home to the author Harold Robbins (1916-1997), best known for his novel “The Carpetbaggers”. After undergoing an extensive renovation in 2012, this 5 bedroom, 5 bath estate is truly the perfect Palm Springs getaway destination.
The property is fully walled, creating the perfect private, uninterrupted holiday experience. Upon entry, the first thing you will note is the dwelling’s sophisticated geometric angles, architectural lines, and contemporary elements that stand out against the beautiful back drop of the San Jacinto Mountains. The front courtyard is lined with trees, hedges, plenty of grass and a water feature. Off to the left is a plush outdoor seating area with a table-top fire feature- perfect for relaxing under the stars on warm nights.
Once through the front door, the flagstone slate flooring guides you down the hall where three of the five bedrooms reside. This gemstone flooring is seen though the home’s common living areas. Two carpeted guest rooms, both with en-suite baths with showers, televisions, plenty of natural light and outdoor access are on the right side of the hallway. The oversized master is just slightly further down the hall. The master has two seating areas, a large 42” television, and an outdoor sofa just outside the sliding glass doors complete with fire feature. The master bath is spacious with all the amenities you’re looking for.
The great room is quite large with seating for 10-12 guests on the two semi circle sofas. A large 60” television, fireplace, dining for up to 8 guests and plenty of natural light make this the perfect space for friends and family to gather. The kitchen opens up to an enclosed bar area with everything you’ll need for entertaining. The den area houses even more seating and another large 42” television with direct access to both the back and front yard. One bedroom sits behind the den with an en-suite bath, 42” television and access to the front yard.
The backyard, pool and spa are fully walled and enclosed with lots of lush greenery providing a private, tropical feel. Plenty of seating, umbrellas and an outdoor kitchenette with large concrete bar seating area- complete with gas grill give you the Palm Springs outdoor living experience. The fifth bedroom is an attached casita, accessible from the back yard. It has a Queen bed, 42” television and a beautiful en-suite bath.
