Villa Description

This superbly restored Provencal 600 square meters farmhouse is set on a hill and has arguably the best views over the Luberon Valley. It has spacious grounds and is terraced on several levels, with oak and olive trees providing shade.

The south facing terrace offers the perfect place for al fresco dining and there is a wonderful curved 'infinity' swimming pool (12 x 8m). In this region made famous by Peter Mayle , many of the area’s famous hilltop villages are only a short drive, with countless vineyards and specialist restaurants also within easy reach.

The house is very private, high on a hillside facing the citadel village of Menerbes and across the Luberon Valley. The grounds can be divided as follows: An entrance or driveway area of 7000 sq meters of 'garrigues' or wild plants and trees ; a 1800 sq meter lavender field stretches south in front of the house -an expanse of lawn which meets the lavender field and the lawn is terraced on 4 levels as the land descends. There is a sunken garden with overhanging trees ideal for summer lunchtime dining which overlooks the infinity pool on a lower level. The pool garden or west garden is set in lawn with a shaded 4 pillared pavilion.

Accommodation includes five double bedrooms, and one single, each with own bathroom, a large salon for entertaining, an oval dining room, reading room, study, downstairs living room with television, video library, etc.

On the ground level sits a large entrance leading to the North courtyard with a marble stone floor. A fully professional equipped kitchen also has a walk in washing up room and a walk in pantry. An oval dining room seats 10. A 90 square meter salon has sofas, Hi-fi music, fireplace, many paintings and art works.

The reading room is equipped with a phone, fax, and broadband internet. There is also a guest WC and a cloakroom. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms: Ashya's room with a double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, tub, 2 basins, and independent toilet. The large Master bedroom has a king size bed including a dressing room and WC and bath and shower room.

Emma’s room is a double bedroom with a raised bed that can fit two single mattresses so it is good for children, an en-suite shower, basin, toilets. Downstairs on the garden level are 3 bedrooms and 1 sitting room.

Hugh’s double room with en-suite WC/shower room. The large sitting room has a Home Cinema, 6 sq meter electric screen and all supporting equipment for TV, Tape, DVD (all via large screen), extensive tape and DVD library.

Outside are very complete and comfortable garden furniture with many chaises lounges, large rattan suite of couches, armchairs, many salons and a stone dining table.
